Mme. et M. Escargot :)

hahaha look at what i got recently :) I LOVE IT! it's so hilarious and i'm sure a lot of the phrases inside will be useful ;)

Every day I get a little more excited and a little more nervous at the same time! Today was my first day back in class after fall break and I thought to myself... I have three weeks before I go on break again, then three more weeks before I get out of school (I'm taking my final exams early)! After that, I'll have about two and a half weeks before I get on the plane to Boston, then on the plane to Paris, then on the train to Avignon .. then to my host family's home in Bagnols-sur-Ceze! :)

On another note,
my friend got tickets for us to go to the DU game in two weeks. how nice! :)

monkey bread!

my friend recently introduced me to this amazing desert called monkey bread! oh my god, it's like heaven in your mouth!! :) Here is the recipe if you'd like to make it yourself:

Ingredients

  • 3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 or 10 inch tube/Bundt pan.
  2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits into quarters. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go along.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.

France!!

Hello everyone!!! Long time, no post, huh ? :) I apologize for not updating, ive been super busy getting ready for fall break, which starts at 3:00 tomorrow ;) & rachel has been having computer problems, but hopefully that will get sorted out soon!!
I have some really big news! I have finally found my host family for my stay in France! For those of you who don't know, I'll be living there from January 6, 2011 to June 17, 2011. I'm so happy that everything is working out for me, but also really nervous because it will be very difficult to adjust. My French has gotten better, though! My family seems really nice, too. my host mother and father are both retired and they have two sons (one who is 25 years old and one who is 30 years old). We actually have a ton in common! We all love to travel and eat good food ;) haha. When most people hear that I'll be living in France, they automatically think I'll be in Paris. Actually, I'll be living on the other side of the country! The town I'll be living in is called Bagnols sur Cèze, which is a pretty little town in the south of France, near the Mediterranean :)

,

isn't it nice?! :)

Getting my visa has definitely been a pain. I'll be going to Los Angeles to get it the weekend after my Thanksgiving Chicago trip.

PS. I promise you'll hear from me more often - like old times ;)

I can't even believe how fast it's all gone by! it will have been 9 weeks next week!! then the week after is fall break, wow! :D i've definitely been working a lot harder than i was last year, and it's starting to show. i just hope my grades will go up just a little bit more before progress reports go out.

I can't wait till the weekend, though. this week will for sure be tough! Essay, 2 day math test, biology... wish me luck :)

Haha... i remembered this morning that today is tuesday, and you know what that means,, cupcakes :D

i used to think that office clothes were really ugly. but i found out that that doesnt always have to be the case :) i went on j crew to look for a peacoat i couldnt find in the store the other day, but i ended up looking at this:

him + her

I really think i've only genuinely liked one person in my entire life. not that that's saying much... i'm still a kid. But that's been over for a long time and i miss it! Not him so much .. just the way he made me feel. i've been with a couple of guys after but never got "the feeling" when i was around any of them. I hope i'll find someone who can make me feel as good as he used to. Blahh sorry for the weird post. It's just been on my mind lately. Have a good night, err, morning haha its about 1 am here. I need to start coming home earlier, huh? :) geanet

Teenagers

LOVE this song...it's pretty much my anthem!

So don't ask me where I'll go
Cause frankly I don't know
And I don't give a shit
Why must we all make sense
Oh I just wont make sense
For once I'm just gonna live
I'm just gonna live

Yesterday

Yesterday was one of the best days everrrr! I left my house at 8:30 am & didn't get home till 1:30 am this morning lol! I am so exhausted today, but it's worth it! Yesterday my school's football team played on ESPN & it was amazing :D Not only was my school on national TV, but we kicked assss haha! 42-7!!!! I had 2 classes in the morning & then my last 2 classes in the afternoon were cancelled cause of the game, so I spent all afternoon tailgating with my friends. There was also a mini concert thing before the game started too & that was a lot of fun! One of my friends' goal was to be on ESPN before the night was over & knowing how crazy he is, he probably did make it on there! I hope I wasn't on TV haha! But I'm kinda sad that yesterday is over cause it was so amazing, but that's what memories are for :) My friend, Danielle, took all the pictures so I have to wait for her to upload them to post some on here! Hope everyone has a great Thursday!! :D
