Woke up this morning to the sound of rain outside, how refreshing :) unfortunately it is too cold to go out untill the afternoon, so I think i'll just go make myself some tea, get cozy, and watch a movie or two. ♥ xo G

my friend recently introduced me to this amazing desert called monkey bread! oh my god, it's like heaven in your mouth!! :) Here is the recipe if you'd like to make it yourself:

Ingredients

• 3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1/2 cup margarine
• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
• 1/2 cup raisins

 

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 or 10 inch tube/Bundt pan.
2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits into quarters. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go along.
3. In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.

Hello everyone!!! Long time, no post, huh ? :) I apologize for not updating, ive been super busy getting ready for fall break, which starts at 3:00 tomorrow ;) & rachel has been having computer problems, but hopefully that will get sorted out soon!!
I have some really big news! I have finally found my host family for my stay in France! For those of you who don't know, I'll be living there from January 6, 2011 to June 17, 2011. I'm so happy that everything is working out for me, but also really nervous because it will be very difficult to adjust. My French has gotten better, though! My family seems really nice, too. my host mother and father are both retired and they have two sons (one who is 25 years old and one who is 30 years old). We actually have a ton in common! We all love to travel and eat good food ;) haha. When most people hear that I'll be living in France, they automatically think I'll be in Paris. Actually, I'll be living on the other side of the country! The town I'll be living in is called Bagnols sur Cèze, which is a pretty little town in the south of France, near the Mediterranean :)

Getting my visa has definitely been a pain. I'll be going to Los Angeles to get it the weekend after my Thanksgiving Chicago trip.

hi everyone! sorry about the bad blogging, i guess you can tell we've been a little busy :) School has been getting better. I can't even believe how fast it's all gone by! it will have been 9 weeks next week!! then the week after is fall break, wow! :D i've definitely been working a lot harder than i was last year, and it's starting to show. i just hope my grades will go up just a little bit more before progress reports go out.

I can't wait till the weekend, though. this week will for sure be tough! Essay, 2 day math test, biology... wish me luck :)

I really think i've only genuinely liked one person in my entire life. not that that's saying much... i'm still a kid. But that's been over for a long time and i miss it! Not him so much .. just the way he made me feel. i've been with a couple of guys after but never got "the feeling" when i was around any of them. Yesterday was one of the best days everrrr! I left my house at 8:30 am & didn't get home till 1:30 am this morning lol! I am so exhausted today, but it's worth it! Yesterday my school's football team played on ESPN & it was amazing :D Not only was my school on national TV, but we kicked assss haha! 42-7!!!! I had 2 classes in the morning & then my last 2 classes in the afternoon were cancelled cause of the game, so I spent all afternoon tailgating with my friends. There was also a mini concert thing before the game started too & that was a lot of fun! One of my friends' goal was to be on ESPN before the night was over & knowing how crazy he is, he probably did make it on there! I hope I wasn't on TV haha! But I'm kinda sad that yesterday is over cause it was so amazing, but that's what memories are for :) My friend, Danielle, took all the pictures so I have to wait for her to upload them to post some on here! Hope everyone has a great Thursday!! :D

Hello everyone, just got back home from the gym :) feeling great right now! I've got so many things to study tonight, though - biology, french, and about 2000 years of history. Ahh. Cross your fingers for me, I hope I do well on my tests/quizzes! This week also happens to be spirit week at my school, hopefully I can go to the pep rally on Friday if I don't make earlier plans since my other friends dont have school that day.. either way it goes, i know i'll have a good time! :) xo geanet

Today was sooo much fun!!! I went shopping with my mom and my best friend, and we did some damage to say the least haha! Our mall has a Forever 21 & H&M literally right next door to each other...that should be some sort of sin or something lol! I'll post the pics of my purchases later after I get settled in! Then, we had a little lunch before going to the new Amway Center for an Open House thing they were having for Magic fans! For the past 2 years or so, I have seen this Amway Center go from literally a big pile of dirt to this gorgeous arena that is our new home for the Orlando Magic!! I cannot wait to go to some games this season andddd Lady Gaga is coming there in April, so I have to get my tickets for that ASAP lol! The Open House though was really nice, we were able to walk around & look at everything from the locker rooms, to the seats, & we got to walk onto the court which was sweet :D Now I'm getting ready for the Gator/Alabama game!! Huuuuuge game for Florida! It's a rematch of the SEC Championship from last year...I'm praying the Gators can get some revenge on Bama! GO GATORS!!!!!! SO excited :D

Yesterday was amazingly fun :) Spent the whole afternoon with a good friend of mine downtown ;) We went to the Cheesecake Factory, and the food was awesome, the cake is sooooooo good :D.. then we walked down to LoDo (which in my opinion is the best part of downtown... stay off of 16th) and looked at apartments, spent some time at the Platte River, checked out Larimer Square, and finally saw The Social Network! There were so many people at the theater, and the movie was great. Check it out if you havent yet :) Hope everyone had a good Friday,, Geanet

why did you and your friend choose to have your blog on a Swedish blogging site? I don't mean anything negative by this btw.. just genuinely curious.

At the time when we decided to start a blog, we didnt really know any other places besides here and tumblr and neither of us really like tumblr. it is pretty unusual, but i guess that makes this blog a little more ... unique? :) haha i'm sure a lot of people have wondered about that! geanet
